I may not be able to fully answer your questions exactly but wanted to share some information you may find useful. You can absolutely get started by signing up for a Genesys education account, which gives you access to the core free subscription. That includes 30+ courses and webinars, covering solid foundational topics of Genesys Cloud CX plus the AI Fundamentals learning path. It's a great way to build awareness and get comfortable with the platform.
That said, it's fair to say the Core subscription isn't really designed for deep mastery or exam readiness on its own. Some people do pass using only free resources, especially if they have broad real world exposure/experience, but it typically (not always) takes supplementing with hands-on experience and additional study methods and practice.
If you prefer a more structured route with guided learning paths tailored also towards exam content, prep for exams, and a clearer progression, the more advanced subscriptions are the way to go, especially the Genesys Cloud Technical Learning Subscription or the equivalent Partner Subscription. These are much more aligned to certification success like GCX-GCP, GCX-GCD & specialist certifications.
On the points side, yes, redeeming your Orchestrators (Advocacy) points for exams or subscriptions is a really popular and smart option. Many in the community are doing exactly that.
One tip though: if you're part of a partner organisation, it's worth checking internally first to see if your company already has a subscription. That way you don't use your points on something you may already have access to. If not, then using points is a great way to unlock those structured learning paths.

I have been working with Genesys since 2009, Genesys Engage 7.6 was my first implementation on Solaris, yes, I am geting old, I know! haha!
Besides of that, I am new to Genesys Community and Orchestrators platform and as I am still working only with Genesys Engage, the study and community platforms are helping me out to start my studies on Genesys Cloud and get up to date on what the Contact Centre market and Genesys Technology present\future is delivering.
I hope to get my GCX-GCP certification soon, and I wish this can help me out to get on the track and start working with Genesys Cloud.
I only have access to the free studies content as I still don't have a partner subscription.
Does anybody manage to pass the exam with the free available content?
Plus, I see I can change my Advocacy points for the Exam. I think this is the best use for the points.
Does anybody did this?
