I thought it was just us Brits that loved "The Great British Bake Off"
Forget the elaborate entremets and gravity defying sugar work! My showstopper would be about pure, unadulterated pleasure... A celebration of British comfort elevated to an art form. I'm talking about a banoffee pie that would make Paul Hollywood weep with joy. (Probably not quite to that level)
Imagine... a thick, buttery digestive biscuit base. Then, a rich, glossy, slightly salted caramel, cooked low and slow until it reaches that perfect point of intense sweetness and almost nutty complexity... Nestled within that golden embrace are generous slices of ripe, sweet bananas, their natural freshness cutting through the richness. And finally, crowning this masterpiece, a cloud of freshly whipped double cream.
Every bite a symphony of sweet, salty, comforting perfection. It's humble in its ingredients, yes, but in its execution and flavour... Wow!

Subject: QOTM June: What would you bake for a TV Show?
Hey all!
TV is crazy about baking shows and challenges. Think: Great British Bakeoff, Nailed It, Sugar Rush, and even Kids Bakeoff challenges. We thought it would be fun to ask you for our June Question of the Month:
If you were invited to be a contestant on a baking show, what would your show stopper be? It's okay if you can't bake well; just tell us your "fantasy" item or the baked food item you'd want to taste most.
I'll go first:
I'm just a follow-the-instructions type of baker, but if I could bake anything, I'd hope I could pull off a gorgeous fruit tart like the one pictured below:
Post your answer and you'll get a new QOTM badge added to your profile :)
