  • 1.  Settling an important debate: What's the most underrated snack of all time?

    Posted 20 days ago

We all know the popular choices, but what snack deserves way more recognition than it gets?
Is it a classic you've loved since childhood? A weird combination that somehow works? Something regional that nobody else seems to know about?
Drop your pick below and tell us why. Bonus points if it's so good that the rest of us need to try it!
Let's find out which snack is the true hidden champion.
I'll start: Cheez-Its. Simple, reliable, and somehow impossible to stop eating.

I'd go with Brazilian cheese bread, or pão de queijo. Crispy on the outside, soft and cheesy on the inside, and somehow good at any time of the day. Definitely deserves more recognition worldwide!

I'm 100% on team Poliesi. My parents are from the state this delicacy comes from, so we've always had pão de queijo at home for every event, or even just for a quick breakfast or afternoon snack. This is hands down the best snack ever. You can pair it with dulce de leche if you want something sweet, or just spread some requeijão on it if you're craving something savory.

Coxinha de frango is a Brazilian snack made with potato dough, filled with chicken and cheese, then deep-fried. It's honestly one of the most incredible things you can eat!

I LOVE baby dill pickles wrapped in turkey slices!  It's the perfect light snack with protein that gets me through the afternoon to dinner!

@Erica Heil Are yours like we do in the Midwest? These are a staple on holidays! Some times they don't even get sliced :)

Not as life-changing as some of these others, but I love a good string cheese. It's a quick and easy protein source (high in fat, I know), gives a little sodium boost, and is just fun to pull the strings. I share it with my dogs all the time!

Mine has to be Panipuri! 😄 Crispy shells filled with spicy, tangy, mint-flavoured water, potatoes, and chickpeas. It's the perfect combination of crunchy, spicy, sweet, and refreshing all in one bite. If you've never tried it, I'd definitely recommend adding it to your snack bucket list!

For me it's Dim Sims.  (Not Dim Sum)  These are an Australian / Chinese style dumpling.  You can have them Fried, Steamed or if you cut them in half, cook them on the BBQ.

Most people get them from their local Fish n Chip shop, or Lunch Bar.  You can buy them frozen in bags at the Supermarket too if you want to make your own.

Yes to the dimmies! I miss them from my time in Oz many years ago. I'm going to show my Northern (English) side and say a pork pie, it's pretty difficult to beat as a snack (a good one anyway)!

I'll see your pork pie, and I'll raise you one Scotch Egg... Food of the gods! 😍 (Ideally, having a pork pie AND a Scotch Egg would be preferred!)

I'll go with kibbeh. Crispy on the outside, juicy and flavorful on the inside. It's one of my favorite snacks, especially with a little hot sauce or a squeeze of lemon. Definitely underrated!

I'd have to say it's cueca virada, in English, it would be something like Turned-over underwear (yes, that's really its name! 😂). It's a fried pastry coated in cinnamon and sugar, and paired with a freshly brewed cup of coffee, it's definitely one of the world's greatest treats.

It's a traditional delicacy where I live, and I've been eating it since I was a kid. 😄

Has to be the good old Scottish Tablet :)

It's basically sugar (lots of it), butter and condensed milk boiled together

Probably frozen grapes! 🍇 I didn't expect much the first time I tried them, but they're ridiculously good. They're sweet, refreshing, and somehow even better straight out of the freezer. Definitely one of the most underrated snacks.
