Hey everyone,

I'm curios and want to see what this community is currently leaning towards.

What is your absolute favorite programming language to work with right now, and what makes it your top pick?

Personally, I used to be firmly in the Java camp. I loved it for its simplicity and how widely adopted it was-it just felt like a safe, reliable bet for almost anything. But honestly, I've almost shifted gears recently. I have moved over to Python for almost all my backend work and for almost all Genesys Cloud scripts using API.

Then, whenever I need to build out custom user applications that actually require a really nice frontend, I rely on a mix of HTML/CSS and Node.js.

What about you all? Drop your favorite programming language/s and your reasons -I'd love to hear what everyone is building with! 😎

For me at the moment, I'm leaning more into JavaScript, mainly because of Genesys Functions and integration work. It fits well for lightweight API orchestration and keeps things simple when building small logic layers around Genesys Cloud.

I also use Google Apps Script quite a bit, especially for Google Sheets automation and quick data workflows. It's been really useful for lightweight integrations without needing to stand up a full backend.

So my current stack is probably:

JavaScript for Genesys Functions + Google Apps Script for automation.
