I would like to get some pertinent understanding and information as I am assisting a customer in developing a monitoring solution to check the Availability of their EDGE trunks.
Using this query GET /api/v2/telephony/providers/edges/trunks they were able to pull up all information about their configured trunks (External, Phone and Edge). For External trunk, they were able to get the information they need to monitor it accurately (optionsEnabledStatus, registersEnabledStatus, connectedStatus, optionsStatus, etc.).
However, for their EDGE trunks (internal tie trunks) only this option is available: optionsEnabledStatus. As they can't really determine if the actual trunk status is currently up or not as it doesn't generate any additional information as the External trunk does.
With this, is this really a normal output/behavior for EDGE trunks? Shouldn't it have the other statuses (registersEnabledStatus, connectedStatus, optionsStatus, etc.) available for this trunk type as well? And do Tie trunks perform SIP Options messages among each other?
