Is there a way in Genesys to allow for the end use to have a notification that they received a message?

Hello, the list of events available from the plugin can be found here: https://developer.genesys.cloud/api/digital/webmessaging/messengersdk/SDKCommandsEvents. Unfortunately, it does not support any events related to messaging, just the lifecycle of the widget and the conversation itself. You can request new features and share your use case at https://genesyscloud.ideas.aha.io/.

No it does not do that. As this deals with the background application use and not when the Genesys is being used by someone. Geneysys focuses more on the conversation interface and less on alerts and notifications. But I believe there are certain custom chatbot development services that focuses on adding custom interfaces on existing Genesys API. if your concern happens when the launcher is hidden then try out the link below: it has a few options but noting related to notifications: https://developer.genesys.cloud/api/digital/webmessaging/messengersdk/SDKCommandsEvents#launcher-hidden
