hi All,
Just wondering if anyone can help advise about Web Messaging, especially in relation to WebSocket API.
In this article, https://developer.genesys.cloud/commdigital/digital/webmessaging/, it explained that Web Messaging can be initiated from 2 options:
- Messenger Widget
- Custom guest interface and at backend use WebSocket API to initiate session.
Just want to ask advise, means then Messenger Widget is have built in websocket function at the backend ? But if we have custom widget, we can use WebSocket API to initiate chat session at the backend ? Or messenger has its own method ?
Thank you Fransiska

Hello,
It just means that you can either use our Messenger Widget - which is the pre-built client/UI we provide for Web Messaging ("ready to use" guest web messaging client, leveraging Web Messaging Guest API) and that you can leverage immediately on your website - or build/develop your own user interface for guests (leveraging the Web Messaging Guest API).
