  • 1.  Does an Edge register as a SIP endpoint with the upstream SIP provider or SBC?

    I cannot find this in the documentation.  https://help.mypurecloud.com/articles/eliminate-install-sip-proxy-edge-sip-provider/.  But want to know if the Edge requires registrar functionality for the upstream device - a media gateway in this case

    No, an Edge does not send a Register to another endpoint. The Edge is configured to send SIP requests to the upstream device, and to allow messages back from that upstream device (in the External Trunk configuration), just as the external device is configured to send calls and SIP requests to the Edge and allow messages from the Edge.
