We found out the issue was with the firmware version on the phone. We updated the firmware from version 6.4.3.5059 to 6.4.5.1251. According to this link a minimum version of 6.4.4 is required. I am trying to find out what is needed for Genesys to update the firmware version they support/publish on the Genesys Cloud platform.
