Agents do not use or select an activity code. System presences are mapped to activity codes (info on mapping here: https://help.mypurecloud.com/articles/real-time-adherence-overview/).
If you want to know what an agent does, you would have to query agent statistics (e.g., https://developer.genesys.cloud/analyticsdatamanagement/analytics/analytics-apis#post-api-v2-analytics-users-aggregates-query). When actual activity is shown in any Workforce Management view, we are querying Analytics for presence, routing status, and out of office settings.
In Workforce Management, we do have the historical shrinkage view which allows you to see in aggregate the shrinkage with a breakdown by activity as a % or total time for a range across all agents in a Management Unit. You can also see actuals in schedule view with the correct permissions and display options. Historical Adherence view also allows you to see, if looking at Adherence and Exceptions, how their actual activity maps to activity codes where there are exceptions.
For API questions https://developer.genesys.cloud/forum/ is more appropriate for questions on existing APIs.
