    Design question here:

I have an org that will be global in nature, with agents in Asia Pac, EU, Domestic US and eventually India. Bulk of agents will be domestic.

Current design calls for the instance to live in the US East region. We are scoping out using edges with sip service brought in by our international carrier for the non-domestic locales, and looking at both premise based sbc's as well as carrier managed sbc's.

In lieu of putting edges + sbc's at the remote sites and assuming that the sites have an existing telephony platform + did numbers, is there something particularly problematic with having the international agents use the deskpone option for delivery instead of web rtc widget?

I understand that there will obviously be toll charges, but those toll charges would replace the concurrent sip session paths and look to be cheaper. and I believe that India has a premise based requirement, but that could be handled with an edge.

It's not the sexiest design out there, but it is simple and helps me avoid unnecessary carrier services and net-new premise equipment.

    Thoughts?
