  • 1.  Associating a new forecast with an already published schedule

    Posted 10-19-2023 13:36

I've seen a number of posts referencing "reforecasting" and intraday forecasting related to Optimizer.

What recommendations does everyone have for this same need/want in Genesys Cloud?  I have had a few requests to refresh a forecast to utilize the most recent data and/or associate a new forecast with a schedule.  Here's what I know (correct me wherever you can)

    • Only one forecast can be associated with a schedule
    • This forecast cannot be "replaced" with a new forecast later
    • This forecast CAN be modified
    • Modifications can be pulled into a published schedule via a "Reschedule."
    • There is no "refresh" option on a forecast
    • To generate "refreshed" forecast data, a new forecast for the same period must be generated
    • This new forecast cannot be associated with an existing schedule; the schedule would need to be recreated, losing all manual changes.

Looking for choices, road map items, ideas etc. from anyone and everyone who might be able to provide it.

    Hi Shelby,

You can update the forecast that is associated with the schedule, by either changing the source data or adding modifications to the forecast. Then after you save your updates go into the schedule and select the reschedule option, there is an option at the end of the reschedule process to revert all the changes, so that none of the schedule is changed, keeping all of your manual changes. The benefit of this is that the updated forecast has been applied to the schedule and you can see these updates at the bottom of the schedule window under the "Schedule and Forecast" field.

Before making forecast updates you could also copy the forecast so that you have the original forecast for comparison purposes.

https://genesyscloud.ideas.aha.io/ideas/WEM-I-364 covers specifying a new forecast for an existing schedule. This work is currently in a scoping phase where we lock down requirements.
