Does anyone have examples of a good naming convention for the configuration items using in Outbound Campaigns? Especially when they need to be list/campaign specific. I wouldn't want to pick the wrong template or filter for the wrong campaign. I think keeping them organized using a good naming convention would be great. Just looking for any Best Practice someone might be able to share related to this.

I haven't seen a specific naming convention that seems to have been widely used, but its best to make them:

• Consistent

• Searchable

• Self-descriptive at a glance

Maybe others in the community can provide examples of their naming conventions and how/why it works for them.

Firstly well done for thinking of this - all too often this is neglected and you are left with an whole mess of different conventions.

Use something that makes sense for you & your business and bear i mind that you will likely be using the name of the items to filter - so pick a short 2/3 letter combination to identify each purpose where you can.  Be aware of ambiguity!

Remember that typically items within Genesys are displayed alphabetically - so if you have 3 lists for the same purpose - put the purpose first!

Hi Mike

On our side we use the following naming convention standard and use this across the campaigns and calling lists.

1. Campaign_Type - Collections, Sales, etc
2. Market - Customer type or region - VIP
3. Division - Department that uses campaign
4. Language prefix - If different languages
5. Dialing Mode - No need to guess or open the campaign to see the dialing mode

Also use it for rules and other objects which makes it easy to track and know exactly which item to select.
