    Hi Folks,

    After attending the Genesys Roadmap Webinar, I'm curious about how we can leverage Genesys to build WhatsApp bots.

    I've previously built WhatsApp bots using various BSPs and the Meta Cloud API. My specific question is: once we link our Meta account with Genesys, how do we create a WhatsApp-specific bot?

    Will there be a new bot type available in Architect for WhatsApp? Currently, we have options like inbound message flow and digital bot flow but considering the limitations of WhatsApp buttons and list messages etc, I'm curious about how the drag-and-drop functionality for building WhatsApp bots in Architect will look like.

    Also, will Copilot work for WhatsApp interactions?

    Is there any documentation available that outlines the development process for WhatsApp bots?

    Any advice, insights or link would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

    Hi Ramsha,

    Are you referring to the WhatsApp flows from the Genesys Roadmap Webinar? I am unaware of WhatsApp specific bots, but I will look into it.

    I'm not referring specifically to the WhatsApp Flow feature but rather to building WhatsApp bots in general.

    So there aren't WhatsApp specific bots in Genesys Cloud, but you can find out information about the available bots and bot flows in Genesys Cloud here: About bots

    Hi Samuel,

    Thanks for the information!

    If I can reframe my question - for web messaging, we get the messenger deployment code that we copy-paste into our website's code 

    What does the process look like for deploying WhatsApp bots? For example: If we what to build a simple bookings app, we create an inbound message flow that has slots etc and then how do we attach that to our WhatsApp account?

    Hi,

    you need to develop your WhatsApp Bot into a Digital Bot Flow and call it from an Inbound Message Flow. After that, Messaging Platforms is where you can connect Genesys to a WhatsApp number on META (including creating a new one) and with Message Routing you can associate the created Message Platform (or multiple numbers) with your Inbound Message Flow.
