Can a bot or virtual agent recognise whether the caller has a male or female voice, i.e. whether they are a man or a woman? This would help in an authentication process

    Hi Thomas,

No, it doesn't look like this is an option with Genesys Cloud. I'm not sure of anyone else has looked into this and has more information on a workaround?

Researching it, gender is hard to distinguish across languages, accents, age, health, and devices and a better option would be using voice biometrics to determine if the voice is correct. There are options in the AppFoundry

    Hello Thomas

Currently, Genesys Cloud does not provide a native feature that allows bots or virtual agents to automatically detect whether a caller's voice is male or female. Using gender inference for authentication also introduces accuracy concerns and privacy implications. For voice-based authentication, the recommended approach is to use voice biometrics, which is supported through specific partner integrations.
