    Hello all

    Can Stand-alone Phone place calls or just receive calls?

    Of course, the scenario I'm talking about is where no user is logged in to the phone, but the phone truly stands alone.

    In my testings with a Yealink phone Outbound Calls didn't work, but one of my customers been able to place calls via stand-alone Polycom Phones

    Can anyone see what I'm missing? or does Stand-alone phones doesn't support outbound calls? (If so, how my customer been able to do so)

    Yes, Stand-alone phones can receive calls if you assign an extension or DID to them.  Alternatively, you can assign the phone as the default phone for a user and call that user.  Same goes for the outbound calls.  You must specify the phone as stand-alone and assign a DID to it for outbound calls.

    Many thanks for that response.

    I understand that Stand-alone Phone is able to receive calls with no user logged-in to the phone (truly stand-alone) and i been able to confirm that.

    But I couldn't understand from your response if the Stand-alone Phone can place calls when no user is connected to the phone - truly Stand-alone mode

    And I couldn't place calls VIA the Stand-alone phone as long as I didn't logged in to the phone with a User

    You will have to assign a true DID to he phone to make a call without a user logged into it

     I've tested standalone mode for Yealink: T21P,  W56H+W70/W80DM. It works. There is no need to be logged on
