Can we configure Recording based on Group of Persons instead of Division?

  • 1.  Can we configure Recording based on Group of Persons instead of Division?

    Hello Everyone,

    We need to control the call recording based on the group of persons. Is it possible? If anyone know the solution please share your answers. Please assist on this.

    In the recording policy, you can select users under "Matching Criteria".
    Is that what you mean?

    Thanks for your Help. Recording Policies specify which interaction recordings to retain or delete right. But I don't want that, My Expectation is Some Agents call should be record and some agents call shouldn't record. How can I achieve that features via Group of Agents.

    Ahhh! Gotcha.
    Create a role that has the recording permission (Conversation->Call->Record, I believe) and remove that permission from the default role(s).
    Then just give the role to the users who you want to be able to record.

    Thank you for all your assist. That answers help me to create and manage Group wise allowing call recording. One More Question, Is it possible to One Group of members can not view the other group members recording? Restrict Recording view access between Groups. For Example, We have Group1 and Group2 two groups. Group1 users recording only access to group1 members and restrict to view group2 members. Is it Possible via Roles or Policies without using Division?

    Division is likely your most convenient way to partition between the 2 groups.  The permission Recording > Recording Segment > View also works with conditions on Users and Queues, but that will mean that you maintain the right set of users or queues associated to each of the 2 groups all the time in such group-specific roles.

    Well, I didn't really say no.  Whether using users or queues as your permission condition is tolerable or not would be a judgement call -- you will need to factor in considerations such as how many users or queues you have in your groups, and how often these changes.

    Thanks Daniel Ho! We have approximately 50-60 Users in a group. We never change frequently only occasionally change will happen. How can we handle same role permission with all groups?

    You'll need to create group-specific roles then.  For example, something like "Supervisor for group A" role with permission recording > recording segment > view and condition with Users = (set of users in Group A).  Then repeat for each group.

    Hello Daniel Ho,

    I have created Two groups. Group A and Group B. I have added condition for role with permission recording > recording segment > view. But Group A agents calls recording viewing by Group B. I can't able to restrict One group agents recording from other group agents call recording. What I am missing in the condition. I want Group A agents call recording not able to view by other group members. Sane like other group members call recording not able to view by Group A. Please Assist on this.

    another way is having a list of people in a data table and adding a decision in to add a wrap code, don't record, then set your policy to delete the recording.  I am not sure if you will have a guid or email

    You can use work team as a filter criteria in a policy so if you're not using work teams anywhere else, you could just put everybody you do/don't want to have their recordings retained into a work team and have that in your policy.
