  • 1.  Can we use Asymmetric keys to encrypt data action for Secure Payment?

    Posted 08-06-2024 13:32

I read in the resource center article that Genesys Cloud supports Symmetric Keys for Conversations and Recording Encryption.

However, our vendor would like us to use Asymmetric keys to encrypt the data action used in Secure Flow.

Is there a way that we can do this in Genesys Cloud? Can we use the Asymmetric key in the Encryption Keys settings?

    Hello Rence,

I believe what you are trying to achieve can be done in the architect flow, the documentation is here.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi Cameron,

Thank you so much for your reply.

We saw this article and this line "Before you begin, make sure that you configure an AWS KMS symmetric key in Genesys Cloud. For more information, see Use an AWS KMS symmetric key for conversations."

Just to confirm, this means we still need to use symmetric keys instead of asymmetric right?

    Hello Cameron Tomlin,

Any Idea if Genesys supports Microsoft Key Vault like AWS KMS to secure the data actions?
Also, does Genesys have a roadmap to support Asymmetric encryption? Customers with PCI DSS compliance really need to secure their data actions with Asymmetric Encryption.
    Regards,

    Hello Noman,

I cannot find anything that says we support Microsoft Key Vault, so my suspicion is that currently its not supported out of the box. It might be possible to integrate it but that would be up to the customer to maintain if any issues arise. I would recommend submitting an idea to our ideas lab, have this looked into and possibly have this officially supported.

As for the Asymmetric encryption I found this idea here

    Cheers,
