    Hi Swaroop,

As someone who has worked in support before, this link was my best friend.

Out of the issues I had to troubleshoot, some were problems I identified using the information available in this link, while the others were operational questions. Unfortunately, we don't have any documentation for those, haha.

What I strongly recommend is creating a document with operational guidelines and keeping it updated whenever you identify something new.

Additionally, it helps a lot to have a good understanding of the platform so you can recognize what are expected behaviors and what are not. For that, I highly recommend these two trainings:

    I hope this helps you.

For me, the instructor-led courses have made the biggest difference, especially because they include hands-on labs and real-world scenarios.

    I'd particularly recommend:

    • Implementation
    • Contact Center Administration
    • Reporting & Analytics
    • Working with Dialog Engine Bot Flows (Voice/Digital) if you're working with bots.

Beyond certifications, I've found that building small proof-of-concepts and experimenting with features such as Architect, Data Actions, and Genesys Cloud Functions has been one of the best ways to develop problem-solving and analytical skills. Applying what you've learned to real use cases really helps reinforce the concepts.

    Hi Swaroop,

I agree with the recommendations already shared. For administrators, I would focus on Contact Center Administration, Implementation, Telephony Administration, and Reporting & Analytics.

Contact Center Administration gives you the platform foundation, Implementation helps connect the components, Telephony is essential for troubleshooting trunks, sites, phones, carriers, and network issues, and Reporting & Analytics helps you investigate interactions using real data instead of assumptions.

Beyond training, creating small tests in a lab organization and documenting each new issue or expected behavior has helped me a lot. Certifications provide the foundation, but practical troubleshooting is what really develops analytical skills.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi Swaroop ,

Having completed all the current Genesys certifications, my recommendation for administrators who want to strengthen their problem-solving and analytical skills is to focus on certifications that help you understand how the platform works end-to-end, not just how to configure individual features.

If I had to prioritize, I would recommend:

    1. Genesys Cloud CX Professional Certification

This provides a strong foundation across architecture, routing, administration, reporting, integrations, and troubleshooting. Many real-world problems require understanding how multiple components interact, and this certification helps build that mindset.

    2. Reporting & Analytics Related Training

Learning how to interpret performance metrics, dashboards, and operational reports is extremely valuable. Strong analytical skills often come from identifying patterns in data and using those insights to solve business problems.

    3. Workforce Engagement Management (WEM)

Even if WEM is not your primary responsibility, understanding quality management, workforce management, and performance analytics helps administrators make better data-driven decisions.

    4. AI, Predictive Routing, and Speech & Text Analytics Certifications

These certifications develop a different way of thinking. Instead of focusing only on configurations, they teach you how to analyze customer interactions, identify trends, and leverage AI-driven insights to improve outcomes.

    5. Developer and Integration Training

Administrators frequently need to troubleshoot API, integration, and automation issues. Understanding developer concepts significantly improves problem-solving capabilities, even if you are not a full-time developer.

My biggest piece of advice is that certifications alone do not build analytical skills. Try to connect every topic you study to a real business scenario:

    • What problem is this feature solving?
    • What metrics would indicate success or failure?
    • How would I troubleshoot if it stopped working?
    • What data would I review first?

The administrators I've seen become the strongest problem solvers are the ones who combine certification knowledge with hands-on lab work, troubleshooting exercises, and real-world implementation experience.

In short: Professional Certification + Analytics Training + AI/WEM knowledge + Integration fundamentals has been the most valuable combination in my experience.

I'd be interested to hear which certifications others found most helpful in developing their analytical and troubleshooting skills.

    Hi Swaroop,

A great way to start learning Genesys is by taking the GCP certification courses, which provide a structured understanding of the platform and its capabilities.
