How soon? Very soon! Monday, January 12th (barring unforeseen circumstances anyway) actually!
Many of you have asked for the Genesys Cloud Windows desktop app to support Microsoft Entra ID conditional access policies. We've definitely heard you and have been working for quite a while to bring that support to you. That will finally come to fruition on Monday when we release version 2.47.870 of the Windows desktop app.
How do I use it?
This feature requires no configuration at the application level. Now when logging in from the desktop application through the standard authentication flow, using a properly configured Microsoft SSO configuration, users will automatically have any associated, appropriate Microsoft Cloud Authentication Provider (CloudAP) information from their device forwarded, allowing the establishment of a "compliant" login within the ecosystem. The Microsoft "you can't get there from here" screen should be a thing of the past.
For our customers who don't utilize Microsoft SSO, there is no change to how the desktop application operates in any way.
What if I have problems with it?
Though we clearly hope our solution simply works for all customers, we will document a way to completely disable this functionality via registry entry in the resource center. I'll link to that documentation when it goes live on Monday.
