You can do two things - either use Agent Assist to listen to conversations and provide knowledge articles or you can iFrame a chat into a script to use for transactions or FAQ's. If you are asking, can an agent use chat like a client could, yes, they can just from the website. I believe you are looking for bots for the agent which can be embedded into a script or even a client-app in the agent interface.
