  • 1.  Does the org setting "Allowed IP Addresses" apply to telephony traffic

    Genesys Community,

Within the GC Organization Settings you can specify a list of CIDRs used to restrict the IP addresses that requests will be accepted from.

Does this restriction apply to telephony traffic such as SIP INVITEs (from BYOC Carrier) and WebRTC endpoints?

    With thanks
    Mark

Each region should have 4 SIP IP's that SIP messages are sent to and should be in the ACL for the carrier/SBC.

The CIDR block is for the media IP's once the SIP connection is set up.  Once the connection is made, Genesys tells the end service where to send the audio.

The Allowed IP Addresses in the ORG settings is to restrict an IP range that users can access your ORG from.

    Robert,

Thanks for taking the time to share. Can I check I have understood your response correctly:

OP: Does this restriction apply to telephony traffic such as SIP INVITEs (from BYOC Carrier) and WebRTC endpoints?
Answer: No. SIP IPs and WebRTC endpoints do not need to be included in the whitelist.
Only the IPs where users login from OR  from where integrations send request to the api.mypurecloud.com.au endpoint need to be included in the whitelist.

    Sound right?

    Thanks
    Mark
