  • 1.  Edge pairing

    Hi,

    We are moving a edge to a new rremotet data center.  Here is my original plan but get stuck on step 3.

    1. Physically moved the edge to the new data center
    2. Delete and unpair the edge thru API
    3. Provision the edge w/ the same pairing id and different ip config in PureCloud to create the package file
    4. Insert USB to the edge w/ the package file

    Somehow on step 3, it doesn't give me the package zip file.  It looks like it is trying to connect to the edge.  Since the edge is in new data center, it doesn't have connection to the cloud.  One more thing...we don't have a lcd display in this remote data center.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi, Edward,

    This is almost impossible without an LCD display.

    I have option 1 - Find/share the LCD display with your other edge, then try the factory reset the edge. Then repeat step 3.

    The other option or hope is the iLO access. This may need to work with Genesys Care to ask for the edge credential.

    It seems like you should have had the ability to download the package prior to it attempted to pair.  The instructions are linked below - when you added the Edge did you ever get to step 10?

    Also, an LCD is recommended if you have one available.  If not, I would also suggest to make sure you power on the Edge and give it time to start up prior to inserting the USB key with the package file.

    Hi Phil

    I got to step 15 but it just doesn't generate the zip file for me.  I had provisioned new edges before and never had this issue.  I had a feeling it was because this pairing Id existed before so instead of creating the zip file, it tried to connect it.  But again I had already unpaired and deleted the edge from API.  So not sure why it didn't allow me to create the zip file.

    Which browser are you using?  Perhaps try a different variety (Chrome) or the Desktop App. https://help.mypurecloud.com/articles/desktop-app/
