    Hello All,

    Random agents are getting emails on hold immediately after the interactions are answered. They are using latest version of Genesys Cloud for Salesforce embedded client. Logged a case with Genesys Care but not getting anywhere so I am seeking help if anyone experienced the same in their org.

    Hi Rohan,

    This can happen if the agent is logged in to multiple instances of GC. e.g. logged into the SF plugin and has other Genesys Cloud instances open.

    Why do multiple concurrent Genesys Cloud logins cause problems?

    If you are able to replicate the issue and capture logs, care should be able to help clarify what is causing the issue

    Hi Sam,

    Thanks for your reply.

    That's what I thought in the first instance that concurrent logins is the cause of the problem. I have been watching the agents handling the email interactions in a screenshare session and I made sure that there are no tabs open with concurrent logins to Genesys and the issue can be reproduced but I am not sure if they have logged in to another browser or not.

    Email utilization is 1 for the agents and they are only in the Email Queue so no chance of voice interaction interruption.

    Thanks a lot for your help @Samuel . It turned out to be that the user was logged in to Genesys in a different browser using the same account. Recommended them not to do that it definitely resolved the issue.

    hi! For us same issue occurs when agent work on messaging - they even keep chatting with the customer but interaction still appear on hold. Also logged in a case with Genesys, but never got anywhere - they ask for logs, but we couldn't replicate the issue to collect the logs. @Samuel Jillard do you think it could be the same root cause with multiple instances of logging in? does it apply if it's the same browser?

    This thread caught my attention as I got a similar complain as you describing very recently: the messaging conversation closed accidentally. As it was very recent, I will share the how-to about creating logs with my agents, in case it reoccurs.

    How did you deal with those interaction, @Ekaterina Kononova? I can't assign them to myself nor to anybody and agents lack that permission right now. Not sure if using API could help here, but would be my next step, as conversation remains alive for a few days only.

    So, yes multiple tabs in the same browser can cause this, although I cant confirm if this is definitely the cause in your scenario. 

    This is caused as there is a limit of 20 Notification sockets per user.  So if you open a new browser tab and this opens new sockets and exceeds the limit of 20, it will close the oldest notification socket.

    Hi! 

    @Daniel Possekel, no this is not our experience. I explained the opposte where messaging is routed to an agent, agent actually interaction with the customer, but at the same time entire handle time is in "hold". 

    @Rohan Kundu, thanks! Yes, that is exactly the setting we have 2 messaging interactions at a time. But it doesn't justify the issue I have described. Normally if agent works on an interaction the handle segment shows "interact" not "hold". 

    @Samuel Jillard, thanks! I will connect with my support team and ask what was the latest reply from Genesys Customer Care. It's a tough ride with them, quite often. They don't have a good explanation or suggest possible root-causes, only ask for logs :D Thanks again anyways :)

    Hi Kate,

    Sorry to hear that.  If you can get the case number I can take a look.

    The logs are the easiest way to diagnose what is happening in this scenario, although are harder to get when its an intermittent issue.  I don't want to jump to conclusions, but it could be that the agent has a separate tab open for each interaction and when returning to an interaction, the notification socket has dropped so isn't updating the interaction or status correctly.

    hi @Samuel Jillard! Thanks! I think it's not needed anymore, the issue is not happening too often. If we see an increase in the number of reported cases, I will then use your offer ;)
