  • 1.  Emails in Genesys security considerations

    Hi All,

    I'm about to present to my security team pitching use of ACD emails using our domain via Genesys.

    Just wondering if anyone has come across any "gotchas" that often come up when security/IA scour over things? We'd be looking at tapping into our Exchange Online environment. (Is Graph the best option for this?)

    From a technical standpoint, the enablement seems pretty simple. Create the connection/integration and configure from there.

    How does Genesys pull the emails from EXO to Genesys? Does it only "listen" for emails into the defined mailboxes or is it's scope wider than that?

    If security is of any concern with Email and domains, then you need to look at switching to the Microsoft Graph API to attach securely to your Office 365 and Azure accounts without forwarding, DNS/DMARC, or going through Amazon SES. Check it out at here: https://help.genesys.cloud/articles/about-custom-microsoft-graph-integration-for-inbound-and-outbound-emails/.  Your security team should have NO concerns with this and it is fairly simple to set up.
