    Hello, Community members.

We are happy to announce that we have added Participant Data values in Interaction Details view. With this feature, Genesys Cloud Quality managers and Quality evaluators can now view the participant data attributes defined in the flows directly in the interaction details view.

Genesys Cloud stores participant data attributes as part of the Conversation. An attribute is a piece of information about a participant that travels with it throughout the interaction. In contrast to flow variables, participant data attributes persist between transfers from one call flow to another.

This feature enables Quality managers and Quality evaluators to see the results of data actions, collected digits in IVR, and data table found values.
Further following are some of the features incorporated to Interaction details view as part of the release.

    • A copy icon is provided next to the Participant Data attribute values to copy the value.
    • If an attribute value is an HTTP link, then it is available in Interaction details as a link that can be clicked to open a new window/tab.
    • In case there are multiple participants in the interaction then Participant data attributes of all the participants are displayed in the interaction details.

    Indeed... so close ;)

Can't wait for full on search/filter functionality for it.   Would be nice if the list was sortable too, eg order they were attached/set or alphabetical/numerical

That's potentially a game-changer for one or two third party reporting solutions we'd looked at recently.

The Analytics team is adding something called External Tag which will be a single user defined searchable item that will also be shown on the Interaction Details UI.  That may help for some of your use cases.

If these informations could be used in dashboards to filter interactions it would be nice too.

    Hi Dilipkarthik,

I have a question for you around data compliance as I would like our team to look into adding this to our custom evaluation reporting application. I have not had a good look at participant data so correct me if I'm wrong,  I'm also assuming participant data is a fixed into Genesys Cloud if there are any  participant data attributes set.

If you are storing participant data attributes as part of a conversation as well as displaying this data as a fixed feature in Genesys Cloud and allowing a copy, how are you handling the data compliance side?

    Kind Regards

Genesys Cloud supports GDPR, so if there is a request for Delete or Access the related interactions, recordings and meta data can be deleted or gathered as needed.

Interesting.  I thought the definition of GDPR required all traces of consumer information be deleted upon request.  I guess the original implementation was 1.0 code.  I assume CCPA is part of this as well?  It would be really nice to have this in the UI without the $3000/year charge.

More details on GDPR are here:
    https://help.mypurecloud.com/articles/gdpr-overview/

It is true that consumer information needs to be deleted upon request.  The API should allow for that.  Reach out via email if you have more thoughts on that Robert.

I was stating that I thought that was already in the product before.  Looks like it is complete now.  Are there any CCPA regulations that are not being met with the GDPR?  I think the thing that will be missing is the requirements for some countries to keep their recordings in the same country as the agents - which I believe is an idea that was just accepted on AHA.

On the note about access.  We have had GDPR in the API for something like 2 years, but in order to use it, you have to use the API.  Genesys PSO has the User Details AppFoundry widget, but that costs way to much for just a tool to access the API.  Why can't this be brought into Admin as standard feature in the UI?

Anyway, there is so little need for this aside from being compliant.  In the hundreds of customers I have talked to, maybe only 3 have asked for this (thought every RFP has it) and I don't think I have had a single customer ask how to use it or question the effectiveness.

Robert, thanks for your comments on GDPR and the GDPR API.  Regarding a UI for the GDPR API, you can follow that feature request in the product ideas lab at https://genesyscloud.ideas.aha.io/ideas/PCSC-I-4, and add votes in support of the enhancement.

    Hi Rakesh,

Thanks for the URL I have read this already. My question should have been more around, is the client the responsible party for creating what the storing participant data attributes is storing when it comes to data compliancy and not Genesys the creator of the attribute. I would presume the answer is yes the client is responsible for data compliancy as they were the creators of what is getting presented in participant data. I would think a client needs to be very careful when using this attribute.

    Kind Regards

I agree with Warren that this needs to be a feature that should be turned on or off at the ORG level.  I can see where certain information what we write out for flow transfers would not want to be shown to the world.

    This is an interesting idea.

The way I would go about it through is to make it a separate Permission that you can assign to roles / users to see the Participant Details or not, separately from accessing the interaction/recording.

Maybe create an idea for that?

    Thanks,

    Hi,

Rob and Rakesh, these are both great ideas and would at least prevent potential chaos that could happen. The client would also be fully responsible  for their own actions, being they would have to active something first before another action (data attribute) can take place. Rakesh just a thought would it not be better if the request came from your side (being a senior director), just a thought.

    Kind Regards

We like to trace back features/ideas to real customers and partners that will find value in the capabilities we build.  Also, ideas give other customers a chance to see what is being requested and vote on the idea.  Feel free to link this thread in the idea to help provide more context.

    Thanks!

Is there any way to add a new custom attribute under this participant data field? if so, any idea on how it can be done?

Basically, in your Architect Flow, you use a "Set Participant Data" operation. You can create more or less whatever you want.

    Thanks Paul!
So if I create an Architect flow with my custom parameter that needs to be picked...will it be displayed under Participant data field in Interactions details view like my example below?
Example: In Interactions detail view, under any specific interaction, I need to find which service/company the customers are calling from (For now lets take that we need to recognise customer from 'A company')? Can I manually create a parameter to check and set as "T/F" through Architect flow based on their company and view this detail under Participant data in Interactions detail view like "Customer :  A company"?

If it can be done, is there any other particular steps that I need to do other than the one you suggested above.

    Thanks,
    Priya
