  • 1.  Forcefully Logging Out from Genesys on the Other Tab / Window in Chrome/Edge

    We are using several different custom-built tools that use Genesys SSO (Oauth) for the authorization. So, we would have Genesys Workspace on one tab and our program on the other tab. For operational reasons, we need to use different Genesys logins for different operations in our program, so we would have an admin logout from our tool and then relogin into it with an another username. As you can imagine, this causes quite a problem. This is only exacerbated when the user forgets to logout from our app and just closes the tab, and the opens the new tab and logs in with a different username. Is there a way to forcefully log the user from Genesys workspace running on the other tab, or even better, detect that user is already logged on another tab and prompt the user to logout from there if they want to use a different login with our app?

    Hello Victor,

    At this time, I am not aware of any way to prevent agents from having multiple logins. I did fine a few Ideas in the Product Ideas Lab related to you thread. I would recommend taking a look at them and commenting / voting on the following Ideas:

    Is it possible to implement a feature to notify users of concurrent logins and provide visibility of these logins in monitoring dashboards

    Let's keep it simple:

    1. Genesys Workspace on Tab 1. Our App using Genesys SSO (Login?) on Tab 2. Both are using the same user.

    How do we logout from our own product on Tab 2 without logging out user on Tab 1 ?

    2. After logging out on Tab 2 from our App that used the same login as in Genesys Workspace on Tab 1, I open Tab 3 and try to access our App again. How do I ensure that user is prompted for login and not automatically signed in because he is already logged into Tab 1?

    Hello Victor, 

    What you are looking for "How do I ensure that user is prompted for login and not automatically signed in because he is already logged into Tab 1" I don't believe is possible. Once you are logged into SSO, in this case tab 1 Genesys Workspace, it will automatically sign you in every when trying to access Genesys Resources, such as your app in tab 2 and 3. Unless its built into the app to ignore this, I think. You can use single logout with you IDP but this will log you out everywhere.
