Certification and Training

Hi everyone,

I've been seeing a lot of posts on LinkedIn about people earning Genesys AI certifications, and I'd like to learn more about them.

So far, I'm only aware of:

• AI – GPE & GPR Certification
• AI Bot/Knowledge Certification

I'd appreciate some help from those who have completed these certifications or are currently preparing for them.

A few questions:

• Are these the only AI certifications available, or are there more?
• What are the differences between them?
• What subscriptions, learning plans, or licenses are required to earn these certifications?
• Do different AI certifications require different subscriptions?
• Are there separate exams for each certification?
• Any recommendations on where to start and how to prepare?

I'd also love to hear about your experience, exam difficulty, study resources, and whether these certifications have been valuable in real-world Genesys projects.

Based on what I've seen so far, the two primary AI-focused Genesys Cloud certifications are:

• Genesys Cloud CX: AI – GPE & GPR Certification
• Genesys Cloud CX: AI – Digital Bots & Knowledge Certification 

What's the difference?

AI – GPE & GPR focuses on:

• Predictive Routing
• Predictive Engagement
• Customer journey optimization
• Action Maps
• AI-driven engagement and routing decisions 

AI – Digital Bots & Knowledge focuses on:

• Digital Bot Flows
• Intent management
• Knowledge Workbench
• Knowledge Bases
• Bot optimization and knowledge management

Are there separate exams?

Yes. These are separate certifications and each has its own exam and learning path. 

How should you prepare?

My biggest recommendation is to take full advantage of the free practice exam. In my experience, many people use it only to check their score, but it can be much more valuable than that.

Here is the approach that has worked well for me:

1. Collect and review every question from the practice exam. Since it is unmonitored, use it as a learning tool rather than just a test.

2. Don't focus too much on the topic scores. A high score doesn't necessarily mean you've mastered that topic. Use the score report as a guide to identify areas that deserve further validation and study.

3. Study the score report carefully. For example, if your report includes topics such as Contact Center Administration, I would strongly recommend reviewing both Administration and Implementation-related content as well, since the exam domains are often connected.

4. Treat every knowledge point in the practice exam as important. If it appears in the practice exam, I assume it is something the certification team considers valuable for candidates to understand.

5. Pay attention to the topic distribution. Note how many questions come from each area. The real exam often feels similar in emphasis, so understanding the weighting can help prioritize your study efforts.

6. Maintain an "essential study file." After each practice test, update your notes with concepts, terminology, configuration details, and areas where you were uncertain.

7. Understand all answer choices. Don't stop when you know why Option A is correct. Make sure you can explain why B, C, and D are incorrect. That level of understanding is often what separates passing from barely missing the mark.

8. Repeat the cycle.

   • Take practice exam
   • Analyze results
   • Update study notes
   • Review weak areas
   • Take practice exam again

Final recommendation

For the GPE & GPR certification, spend additional time on Predictive Routing concepts, Predictive Engagement configuration, customer journeys, Action Maps, and reporting. 

For the Digital Bots & Knowledge certification, focus on bot flow design, intents, Knowledge Workbench, Knowledge Bases, testing, and optimization. 

Personally, I found that the free practice exam was not just a readiness check. It was a roadmap that helped me identify what to study, what to add to my notes, and what concepts I needed to understand more deeply. If you build your preparation around that feedback loop, you'll significantly improve your chances of passing.
