    All -

We have noticed that many times the Agent using Pure cloud desktop app facing issue where next business day there Region selection changes back to default as "US East"

Our Region is "US West" and then we have to ask them to select it again.

Is anyone knows, what could be the reason of this ?

Also is there a way/configuration we can do so that it always points to US West ?

    Anurag,

Is it possible that they are bookmarking the wrong URL to login with?  If your Genesys Cloud org is in the US West region then the login URL should be https://login.usw2.pure.cloud.  If you use that URL it will ALWAYS default to the US West region.  I suspect your users might be using https://login.mypurecloud.com which is our region in US East, and they'll be able to select the region from that URL but it will always revert to US East on each login.

    Hope that helps.

You might try to download the desktop installer from the region that you are in: https://apps.usw2.pure.cloud/directory-windows/.  I think by downloading it from from the appropriate region will default to the proper region on login.

Alternatively, you can ask your friendly IT team to add some registry keys to your GPO for you desktop app users:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Interactive Intelligence\Purecloud\Directory

Add a REG_SZ called "Region" value "<whatever region you want to get to>"

Add a REG_SZ called "RegionURL" value "https://apps.<the domain you are after>/directory"

We have done this to avoid these issues.

We just ran into a related issue, so I was so happy to find this old thread. Unfortunately, it seems to default to US East no matter where the installer is downloaded from. This is consistent with the information on the desktop app deployment page.

The Configure default region section has instructions to add a couple of registry keys to configure the region. The problem is that they're in HKEY_CURRENT_USER. What about all the other users that log in to that computer? They have to select their region? Why not HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE?

Down in the Ignore WebRTC softphone events section at the bottom of the page, it describes allowing for that registry key to be entered in either place. I tried doing that with the region keys. It didn't work.

Also, why is there no registry key to set the org name? Why make the users enter that?

I know you "know a guy" that could make those things happen. ;) Keep releasing your videos. I watch them all.
