  • 1.  Genesys Cloud Communicate app Security Questions

    As I am unable to find it in the Resource Center I am trying my luck here. 
    (Genesys Support could not provide much info either.)

    The customer has some security questions regarding the app:

    • Does anyone know where the data is being processed when using the app? Is everthing passed on straight away to Genesys Cloud and nothing stored in the app?
    • Does anyone have experience with MDM and the communicate app? (Mobile Iron/Intune?) I could only find https://help.mypurecloud.com/articles/faqs-communicate-for-ios/ with some info.
    • Does Genesys Cloud communicate app talk to a specific URL? My guess is its just API calls same as in the Web GUI.
    • What encryption does the app use?

    Any info would be appreciated as the documentation is really basic at the moment.

    Hi Andrew,

    • Communications are directly to the GC API.
    • The mobile apps do not support Intune, especially as regards conditional access policies. We have no official support for any other MDM solution.
    • They communicate with the appropriate GC API endpoints for the selected region. 
    • Network communications use standard TLS-based encryption mechanisms like the rest of the product.
