https://status.mypurecloud.com/ is the correct location for platform status. Any outages for any services will be reported on that page.

Tim, is there an API for me to consult a particular region this page?

If you click the Subscribe to updates button at the top, you can use those options to be notified of updates. There isn't an API for this information; the RSS feed is as close as you'll get to programmatic access to the data. You can request new features and share your use case at https://genesyscloud.ideas.aha.io/.
