  • 1.  Genesys Workday (HRIS) Integration Issue

    Posted 20 days ago

I am currently working on integrating Workday with Genesys Cloud.

At this time, we do not have access to Workday APIs, so I am using hardcoded values for time-off types and balances.

    As a result:

    • I do not require any Data Actions
    • No Data Actions are configured in the workflows

    Our primary use case is:

    • To retrieve agent time-off balances when agents check their balances

Based on this, my understanding is:

    • Only the "Get Time Off Types and Balances" workflow needs to be configured

I have a couple of questions:

    • Do I still need to configure the other five workflows in the integration?
    • Since we are not currently connecting to Workday, is it correct that no credentials setup is required for this integration?

While activating the integration, I am encountering the following error:

    • "Unknown error caught in integration validation."

    #TimeOff,AbsenceManagement
    #WFMConfiguration,BestPractices

    Hello,

Credentials are not mandatory for HRIS integration creation or activation. Regarding the need of all the workflows, there must be a valid workflow defined for each of the configuration property and it is validated during activation. But you will receive a specific message about one missing if thats the cause of activation error. i.e "Integration registry workflow configuration is invalid". Unknown error usually indicates a bad workflow and the only configuration we validate to mark it active is Time-off types. I would recommend to mark the integration inactive and active again and reach out to care with organizationId and/or correlationId for engineering to investigate the issue around unknown error.

Hope this helps. Please let us know if you have more questions

    Hello,

Thank you for responding to my post.

    • I already created a Genesys case and reviewed the issue with a Technical Support Engineer, who recommended that I post my query here.
    • I am unclear about what qualifies as a "valid flow" in this context.
    • Our requirement is simply to display the time-off balance, not to request or it from Genesys.
    • In my use case, I have customized the Architect flows (Time-off Types and Time-off Balance) so that they do not call any data actions and instead use hardcoded values. Does it break the integration?
    • I am able to successfully execute these flows using the API Explorer, which indicates that they are valid and published.

Could you please add more details what is being checked in the flow when activating the integration? Any help with this integration is appreciated.

    Hello,

When activating the flow, the two important things that are verified are

    1) If the configuration properties have values i.e workflows set for all of them

    2) As a sanity check , we invoke the workflow for getting time off types to make sure response is successful

If you have already verified the flows through API explorer, the best course of action to investigate the reason for unknown error you are noticing would be for our support and engineering team to investigate the logs during activation. Please work through care by providing the organization Id and if possible a correlationId for the action, where you deactivate and activate the integration.

    Hope this helps. Thanks
