  • 1.  Hmong Language Support

    Hi Community - 
    We are looking to create a call flow with prompts in Hmong. Unfortunately, Hmong doesn't appear to be supported by Genesys Cloud at the moment. We can create our static prompts in Hmong, but language selection becomes an issue for areas that use System prompts. (e.g. Estimated Wait Time playback.)
    Has anyone else encountered this use case? If so, what did you do as a workaround?

    In my experience, folks record the prompts as English-US but labeled as, say, Greeting_Hmong. Then designate which prompt to play at runtime. System prompts that are embedded and cannot be specified (like the ones in the Collect Input responses or Estimated Wait Time, etc.) just have to be in English, and hope that folks can understand well enough to get by.

    Hopefully someone out there has come up with a better workaround.

    My suggestion would be to choose a language like Swahili that does not have system prompts in the local language and put your Hmong prompts in there.  When you ask for the language just change to Swahili and it will play the Hmong prompts.  Any system prompts will play in English.

    I think we're leaning towards George's suggestion at the moment. If we place the prompt as Swahili (or a different language that doesn't support system prompts currently), we may have issues in the future if Genesys were to add system prompt support for Swahili. 
    We're hoping the Community may have additional ideas! :)

    I think you can upload pre-recorded audio file for system prompts as well. We can not delete the system prompts, however we can upload or change the audio files attached to it based on your language. If the play back of system prompts does not match with your language play back behavior then you have to implement with work around or implement your own logic to achieve desired behavior.
