    Posted 06-13-2024 18:50

We are delighted to announce that Genesys Cloud now supports hosting SCORM 1.2 e-learning packages. Whether you have purchased these packages from a vendor, or crafted them yourself, you can now further enhance them within Genesys Cloud. All other existing Learning features can be combined alongside your SCORM courses. Feel free to include some rich text formatting, add some useful reference documentation, or even incorporate your own post content assessment. When the time comes to assign your content, you can ensure it is scheduled for the most appropriate time using the integration with Workforce Management.

Learning Modules themselves are also sporting some enhancements to help admins create engaging content, whilst also controlling the way assignees move through the assignments. Supervisors can review answer information and enjoy greater progress tracking. Last, but not least, assignees benefit from auto saving progress alongside a more intuitive UI when completing their learning assignments.

SCORM and Module Improvements are available to all GC3 and WEM Add On customers right now.

See below for more of the headline features:

Hi Paul, thanks for this info! Is there a file size limit on the SCORM package?

    Hey Melissa,

No worries we hope you're enjoying the feature.

Thanks for adding your question onto the WEM Community on file sizes. Out the box Genesys Cloud supports packages of 256Mb. We can increase this package size limit on a customer by customer basis however if a supportability ticket is raised with the associated Org ID. Engineering will then tweak this in the background.

Hope that helps. If you have any other questions please let me know.

    Hi Paul,

We created SCORM 1.2 content in Easy Generator and exported and uploaded to Learning and Development as a new module. When launching in preview or as a module shared to test users, the content looks as though it is loading and then we get a message that says, "It looks like the connection to the server has been lost" and then never connects. Any ideas as to why or how to correct?

    Thank you.

    Hi Joseph,

Thanks for reaching out. Sorry to hear you're having trouble with one of your SCORM modules. Based on what you've shared here it sounds like it is an issue with the package itself. It looks like it is trying to get a resource from elsewhere and is failing to retrieve it. To my knowledge there isn't anything we block in Genesys Cloud that would cause it.

If the package is something you are happy to share with us we can load it into our test environment. If there is an issue our side we'll be able to look under the hood to find out what is going on.

You can reach me at paul.turner@genesys.com

Alternatively, if you'd rather validate the module yourself I would recommend loading it into another LMS tool to see if it works there. A free account can be created on SCORM cloud to load SCORM modules. That can be helpful if you don't have access to another tool internally. You can find SCORM cloud here.

Let me know how you'd like to proceed.

    Cheers,

    Hi Paul,

Thank you for the detailed response. Much appreciated.

I tested on SCORM cloud, and it worked as expected. If okay with you I will send to you for testing via email.

Is there any chance there could be a network restriction on my side that is blocking the content? We have a workaround for now outside of using SCORM content but hoping to use in the future.
