  • 1.  How do I share views from Analytics workspace?

    Posted 4 hours ago

    Hi all,

I'm having issues figuring out how to share views from Analytics Workspace with others so it retains all the details of my original view. While I know Genesys Cloud doesn't have a share option - I've been using the URL to share back but noticed it only shares back the filtered items and not things like column changes.

Does anyone have a way where I can share those back as well?

    Thanks.

    Hi Kevin,

From what we have seen, this is currently one of the main limitations of Analytics Workspace sharing in Genesys Cloud.

Today, when you share or reopen the URL, Genesys usually preserves things like:

    • selected filters
    • date ranges
    • view context

But it does not reliably persist the full presentation state, such as:

    • custom column layouts
    • column ordering
    • hidden/shown columns
    • resizing
    • some widget-level visual customizations

So unfortunately the URL behaves more like:
    "reopen this workspace context"
    than:
"clone this exact saved analytical layout."

    Another important point:
the recipient must also be authenticated in the same Genesys Cloud org with the appropriate permissions, because this is not a public shareable link. The URL only reopens the Workspace context inside an authenticated session.

What worked better for us operationally was:

    • creating standardized Workspace views/dashboards owned by a shared admin/reporting account
    • using saved views where possible
    • limiting per-user customization for operational dashboards
    • exporting critical views into dashboards/wallboards instead of relying only on Workspace URLs

For teams that need strong consistency across supervisors/operations, we ended up using:

    • Performance Views
    • Dashboard widgets
    • external BI/reporting layers (Power BI/Tableau)
    • scheduled exports/APIs

because those approaches provide much more deterministic visualization sharing.

    One important detail:
some Workspace configurations are stored at the user preference/session level rather than fully encoded in the URL itself, which is why another user opening the same link may not see the identical layout.

    So short answer:
sharing the URL alone currently does not fully preserve all Workspace visual customizations consistently across users, and the receiving user must already be logged into the same org for the link to work properly.

    Hi Kevin,

this functionality isn't available yet, but the related idea is close to entering development. You can track it using the link below:

    Hi Kevin,

I believe what you are seeing is expected behaviour currently. Sharing the URL generally preserves filters/query parameters, but not the full saved view configuration such as column selections or layout customisations.

There is an upcoming Ideas Portal enhancement related to this called:

    "Views: Public Saved Filters/Shared Views"

The idea is to allow users to create and share saved Analytics Workspace views publicly, similar to how Dashboard sharing works today, so others can access the same configured view/layout without having to manually recreate it.

    According to the latest update:

    • requirements/design have been finalised
    • development is expected to begin in Q2 2026
    • target delivery is planned for 2H 2026
