  • 1.  How to Drop Genesys from Call After "Transfer to Number" in Architect Flow?

    Posted 10-07-2025 05:56

Hi all - In my inbound Architect flow, I'm using "Transfer to Number" to send calls to an external DID.

The caller gets transferred, and the external party answers - but in the interaction timeline, the call is still active in Genesys Cloud, even after the external person picks up. It seems Genesys is staying in the media path.

We want Genesys to drop out of the call after the transfer connects, so the call continues only between the caller and the external party - like a blind transfer.

How can we achieve this behavior?

    Hello Saravana,

If you're using the Transfer to Number action, you may want to check out Release Link Transfer. In the External Trunk Settings, you can configure this by expanding the Protocol section.

Hi Jason - Thanks for your response. I'm using GCV (PureCloud Voice - AWS) trunk for inbound, outbound calls. I don't see the RLT setting under the Protocol section. I see only the Transfer setting. Also, the client is not having a BYOC Cloud or Premises Edge trunk.

Hi, Release Link Transfer is not supported by GCV.
With BYOC, default is the "bridged transfer" - GC initiates an additional outbound call and passes audio between the two legs. Here RLT would work, but only  on the same trunk where the inbound call came in, and SBC / carrier need to support this.
