  • 1.  How to remove a variable as Input/Output in Architect

    Hi all!

    I'm having issues in Architect when realizing I do not need a variable as an Input/Output in my Bot Flows (or Common Modules) anymore. It seems like those Variables cannot be edited in any ways or deleted, even if they're not used anywhere.

    Am I missing something? Is there anyway to deselect the "Input/Output to Flow" option, or even simply delete the Variable? The only way I found so far to delete theme is to remove the variables from every Action, then export the flow and re-import the file in a new flow (it does not work if I re-import it in the same flow) and only then I can finally delete the variable.

    Hi Andrea,

    You can't delete them since they have been used in earlier published versions of the flow.
    Don't know if it has to do with that other flows, unless updated could still be running an older version of the Bot or Common Module, and removing these would break something there.

    I usually end up deleting and re-importing the flow to get rid of them.

    Hi Jan, 

    that's unfortunate. However, many thanks for your reply... I ended up doing as you suggested but first I tried to remove the Call Bot action from every Inbound Flow I was calling it from but I was still unable to edit or delete the variable.

    You can deselect it only for new variables. So for a slot, create the slot from the left menu, then Goto to data select the variable and untick the options, once a slot is used in a flow you can't edit those fields
