There is this new feature in latest release notes, however there is no word how to use it, which APIs are involved etc. Any information/link available?

    Hi Armands,

I apologize - we had some delay with our documentation for this particular feature.  However, everything should be live now.

Please see this page: https://developer.genesys.cloud/commdigital/journey/external_events for an overview of how to set-up your inbound event data flow and start to send events.  It will walk you through the experience and what is required at this stage of our development (we have much more to come).

Additionally, we have this page: https://developer.genesys.cloud/commdigital/journey/external_events_schema_creation_and_update_rules that highlights the rules and how to create schema to send your data to Genesys Cloud.  In there, we describe the data types allowed at this stage and the rules for schema evolution.

And, lastly, if it isn't too much to ask, would appreciate your feedback on this material to see if it helps you navigate this exciting new feature and if it doesn't or falls short, where we could improve it.

Thank you for bringing this issue up.

    Hi!

In which UI/apps/API can we see ingested custom events?

I'm very interested in this new capability and particularly how it could be leveraged for Journey Management and building a true single customer view within Genesys Cloud.

The current documentation is understandably very developer-focused, but from a customer and solution-design perspective it would be really valuable to have some business- or functional-level guidance. For example:

    • What are the intended or recommended use cases for ingesting external events?
    • How does Genesys envision this capability being used alongside Journey Management, Architect, and analytics?
    • Are there any reference architectures, blueprints, or examples that show how customers are expected to model and consume these events?

The release notes describe this as a "foundational capability", which is particularly interesting. Can you share whether this is something Genesys plans to build upon (for example, tighter Journey integration, reporting, or decisioning use cases)?

Even a high-level overview of the product vision and direction-without getting into specific timelines-would be extremely helpful for those of us working with customers who are actively exploring these scenarios.

I found the Idea - Allow journey analysts to use externally sourced events in Journey Management (https://genesyscloud.ideas.aha.io/ideas/DARJMT-I-61) - which is showing as in development. Does that make the "foundational capability" useful?
