    Anyone with the latest desktop app version (2.48.900.0) noticed any odd behaviour with Jabra headsets in relation to calls hanging up randomly?

    I don't think I have seen any other posts in the community stating this.  I would recommend raising a case with Genesys Customer Care to investigate this further.  Maybe others in the community can confirm if they have seen a similar issue.

    Just checking. When you say odd behaviour does that include the function for answering calls by lowering the boom ?

    I ask as we've updated recently and are experiencing issues.

    Hi Neil,

    We use the Jabra SE 20's which have inline controls, calls seem to be disconnecting post answering and console logs indicate the jabras are hanging up.

    Morning,

    We are seeing similar but with use via the Genesys / Salesforce embedded app. Other desktop app users have reported issues with answering calls via lowering the boom after this update has been deployed, and I've noticed on the release notes (attached) that there's been updates to the Jabra SDK (little vague TBH).

    We are verifying JabraDirect / headset firmware.

    Not sure if this helps but we've capture an error yesterday where a call auto disconnected when being placed, and the agent didn't interact with the UI / call.

    Hi Harpal,

    we are using Jabra Engage 75, Jabra Evolve 65 and Jabra Evolve 20 togehter with the desktop app. They are working as expected. Do you use "Jabra Direct" and is the firmware for docing stations and headsets up to date?
    Have you ever tried "Progressive Web App" instead of the desktop app? Its a good alternative if you are encountering trouble with the desktop app.

    We are experiencing problems now, too. They only occure when a cell phone is selected as phone device and an Jabra Engange 75 docking station ist connected to the PC. Problem does not occure when Engage 75 is connected via blue tooth adapter. The problem is not permanent. This morning it works fine.

    Hi 

    We had to roll back to previous version as the call controls on Jabra (mic up & down) stopped working on new version.

    tried both the 32bit and 64bit versions.

    Rolling back to previous version also hit snags as need to delete the AppData\Local\Genesys folder.

    Waiting on Genesys to find whats happening

    We are having the same issue with some of our users, can you tell me what version you rolled back to?  I have ticket open with Genesys and their response is to try older version and open case with Jabra.

    We rolled back to  genesys-cloud-windows-2.47.870.exe  (https://app.mypurecloud.com/directory-windows/build-assets/2.47.870-192/genesys-cloud-windows-2.47.870.exe)

    If you had upgraded to the 64bit, rather do a clean uninstall and install older version after.  Also importantly, to Delete the Genesys folder in AppData\Local

    We are aware of the issue and it's our top priority to address this in our next release. Could those of you with issues please let us know with which Jabra devices you are experiencing the issues? I know Harpal mentioned the Evolve 20 SE, and I saw other mentions of headsets that are working.

    We've got a release in the testing pipeline. Unfortunately we haven't been able to reproduce these issues internally -- which is every bit as maddening as it sounds -- but we've added an option to revert to using the legacy Jabra functionality for those who are experiencing issues with the "modern" Jabra SDK. It will be configurable like other such options by users or admins via registry entry.

    Hi Shirley,

    We're planning a release this coming Monday that will include a workaround for the Jabra headset issues. While we haven't been able to consistently reproduce the problem internally, this workaround introduces an option to revert to the legacy Jabra functionality, which we're hoping will help stabilize things for affected users.

    This is still on schedule for release tomorrow.

    By default, the modern Jabra integration is enabled. For those having issues, you can enable the legacy Jabra integration through a registry entry like other similar optional mechanisms, so that depending on the customer's environment, either users or IT administrators can choose. 

    You can change either of the following registry keys:

    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Interactive Intelligence\Purecloud\Directory
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Interactive Intelligence\Purecloud\Directory

    Add a new DWORD value called UseLegacyJabraIntegration and set it to 1.

    Hi Brian,

    Evolve2 65 with the link 390 for Bluetooth certainly has control issues using the 2.48.901.0 and TBH i found the same issues when accessing / answering both acd & non acd calls via Chrome & Edge. Both JabraDirect software, headset and dongle were running the latest firmware updates. We also use the Evolve2 50 (wired) - awaiting headset delivery, so will feedback.

    In your Network log are there websocket (column) closure errors getting logged that originate from Jabra or Desktop app?  It may be a security policy with Jabra if it's introduced in the new desktop version that didnt get vetted yet.

    There are a few different, complementary initiatives going on. Eventually, the goal is to have no third-party-specific libraries in the desktop app(s) in favor of using the built-in Chromium engine's WebHID functionality for all headsets from all vendors. So this Jabra-specific issue should be short-lived.

    In discussing this with colleagues, it's become clear it would be exceedingly valuable to enlist some willing assistants to help us try out some of these configurations, since there are so many available Jabra options out there. If one of you is interested in trying a prerelease version of the new WebHID integration, please reach out to me at my genesys.com email address which should be available in my profile. This wouldn't require a new desktop application but rather a registry adjustment to load a particular version of the embedded web app.

    Does anyone experienced also this particular scenario: when working with Genesys Cloud Desktop app and Jabra Engage 75 SE, the headset rejects an alerting call after approximately 15 seconds (alerting timeout on the queue is set to 30s). No user action done. There is no issue when using the Web Genesys Cloud.

    @Olivier Varga or @Olivier Varga ? : Yes, we encountered this problem. Even if a cell phone was the selected phone the call dropped after 15 seconds, as long the Jabra Engange 75 docking station was connected to the laptop. Colleagues without this docing stations had no problems.

    Thanks for confirming. We opened a ticket with Genesys Support, and their initial analysis indicates the issue lies with Jabra. The behavior points to a compatibility gap between the Genesys Desktop App environment and Jabra device drivers/firmware. Genesys consulted their SMEs and recommended testing different configurations to identify what works best.

    But for this customer, the Genesys Desktop App is mandatory and the headset is connected via cable to the desktop. Genesys also advised opening a ticket with Jabra, which the customer has done. We're currently waiting for Jabra's feedback and aiming to avoid a ping‑pong situation between vendors.
    I'm not sure how we gonna fix this....

    Thanks for the update. Unfortunately, the workaround did not resolve the issue on our customer side.

    The following was tested on a workstation at 2 of their locations:

    • Genesys Cloud Desktop was fully closed and removed from automatic startup
    • The DWORD registry value was added under HKEY_CURRENT_USER (it was not present under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE)
    • The computer was rebooted
    • Genesys Cloud Desktop was started again

    Despite this, when a call was initiated, the same behavior occurred: the call was rejected after ~15 seconds
    I hope they will come back with some information from Jabra.

    That timeout is an indication that the modern Jabra integration is still in use. Can you please verify that they have the correct version installed -- 2.49.903 -- and that the registry entry has nothing out of whack?
