    OoH!

Does it have to be work related? Does it have to be practical? Can I say flossing? lol

But seriously, automate something in my work day? Genesys related? We're working towards automating task flows with work items. Nothing profound, but would be very helpful for our team.

I'd automate validating and improving knowledge articles based on customer conversations.

Having AI identify knowledge gaps, recommend updates, and highlight opportunities to improve self-service would benefit both agents and customers.

Jokes apart, in Genesys, it would probably be a user permission routine... today I had two warroons because the user had the wrong permission and did a mess with data actions! 😭

If I could instantly automate one task in my personal life, it would be sending birthday messages.

Not generic, copy-and-paste greetings, but thoughtful and dynamic messages that match my personality and the relationship I have with each person-sent at the right time, with a personal touch, a shared memory, or the right tone for them. It would be a great way to make sure the people who matter to me always feel remembered, even on the busiest days.

For work, I would automate the "behind the scenes" work around Knowledge Base and CX insights.

I've been working with Claude agents recently to automate tasks like optimizing Knowledge articles, extracting data, analyzing AVA interactions, and finding improvement opportunities. It's amazing how much time we can save when automation helps with the repetitive parts and lets us focus more on strategy and customer experience.

For my personal life, I would automate choosing what to do with my free time: 3D printing, Pokémon cards, music, or simply doing nothing for a while. 😅

So I guess my answer is: automate CX intelligence at work, and automate my indecision after work.

If I could instantly automate one Genesys Cloud task, it would be environment documentation and change tracking.
So much of the work in Genesys Cloud involves understanding how everything is connected: queues, users, routing skills, flows, schedules, scripts, data actions, integrations, divisions, permissions, and reporting dependencies. The challenge is that environments change constantly, and documentation often falls behind.
I'd love an automated process that could scan the org, document the current configuration, highlight recent changes, identify dependencies, and flag potential risks before they create issues.
    For example:
    • What changed in Architect this week?
    • Which queues are tied to which flows, schedules, and skills?
    • Which data actions are used where?
    • What permissions changed for key roles?
    • Are there any orphaned queues, inactive users, unused skills, or broken references?
    • What configuration changed right before a reported issue started?
That would save a lot of time during troubleshooting, migrations, audits, optimization work, and customer handoff. It would also make Genesys Cloud environments much easier to manage at scale.

I'd automate the creation of Architect flows from business requirements.

Imagine describing a call flow in plain English and having a first draft of the IVR, menus, data actions, data tables, prompts, and error handling generated automatically. That would let me focus on refining the customer experience instead of building everything from scratch.

    Hi everyone!

If I could instantly automate one task, it would be the bulk process of cleaning up and cloning user configurations (roles, divisions, skills), as well as the batch termination of stuck or orphaned interactions. Anyone managing large environments knows how much time is spent manually micromanaging queues and access rights when urgent requests arise from multiple departments.

I'd automate root-cause analysis for contact center incidents. The ability to automatically correlate Genesys Cloud events, SBC logs, carrier alerts and monitoring data into a single RCA with remediation recommendations would dramatically reduce mean time to resolution.

I could say an automatic Tea Maker but my wife makes a lovely cuppa and occasionally I get cake, to the annoyance of my colleagues on video calls. 😁

On a serious note with managing multiple orgs I'd like to link deprecations automatically to features or APIs in use so that there are no surprises for a missed API. This would also need to check regularly after the notice in case someone creates one after but before the feature is changed or removed.

If I could automate one thing, it'd definitely be an AI agent that goes through my sprint board and Jira tickets on its own picking up enhancement requests and troubleshooting issues, and coming back with possible solutions already thought through. That alone would save me so much time. And honestly, taking it a step further with Agentic AI actually executing the routine tasks end-to-end, not just suggesting fixes, would be a game changer I could spend my energy on the trickier stuff instead.

    Thankyou

While recently learning more & more about Agentic-AI (AI Agents, Agent-Assist, IVA etc etc etc) - I've been creating AI Agents for several different tasks.

So, to answer your question -
If I could automate one workday task, I'd build an AI-agent version of myself to handle customer interactions - like a smarter digital twin.
Think Living with Yourself, but instead of Paul Rudd's clone stealing my life, mine would just take over the repetitive work and let me focus on the creative stuff.

I also liked someone's idea above to automate 'sending birthday greetings' çz that's really important.

    Thanks

As someone already mentioned, having automation to create a draft call flow would be a huge time saver. Building the initial flow is a lengthy process, but if you could prompt the AI to create the IVR, prompts, menus, data table lookups etc for a first draft, you could then refine it based on specific needs.

I would like to automate everything. 😄

But if I had to choose just one task right now, it would be test automation.

One of the biggest challenges I see is creating standardized documentation that helps the customer understand the project, supports the developer during implementation, and can also be read by a script or test engine to automatically validate the flow.

For Genesys Cloud Architect flows, IVRs, bots, prompts, variables, Data Actions, and routing rules, this would reduce manual effort, improve quality, and make support handover much easier.

I'd instantly automate queue activation based on the schedule, instead of agents or Team Leaders manually updating queues throughout the day.

AI could automatically place agents into the correct queues for their scheduled shifts, training, meetings, or specialist work, and then return them to the appropriate queues afterwards. This would reduce manual admin, prevent missed queue changes, improve routing accuracy, and ensure the right agents are available at the right time.

I'd automate every "Can you just take a quick look?" request. 😄

Because we all know "quick look" is speak for:

    • 5 minutes reading the message.
    • 20 minutes hunting through logs.
    • 15 minutes following Architect flows.
    • 10 minutes checking permissions.
    • 30 minutes wondering "Who changed this... and why?"

I'd love an AI assistant that does the detective work first and comes back with: "Here's the issue, here's what changed, here's the fix, and no... it wasn't DNS this time."

And while we're making wishes... connect my kettle to my calendar so it starts boiling whenever I get a gap between meetings. Bonus points if it knows the meeting was stressful and makes the tea extra strong. 🍵😂

I love this question, and I have two answers:

Non-work-related - It's a little silly, but I would automate deciding what to eat for dinner each night! The decision fatigue at the end of each day, around what will be prepared, is the worst. If I could automate this based on the ingredients in my fridge/pantry, that would be amazing!

Work-related - I would automate my follow-up emails based on my call notes! It would be great if action items could be pulled out and sent to the necessary parties automatically.

I would automate end-to-end contact-center health monitoring and incident analysis. The automation would continuously review call quality, integration failures, queue performance, bot containment, API errors, and agent-impacting issues across platforms such as Genesys Cloud and connected CRM-salesforce systems. It would then identify the likely root cause, assess the business impact, and recommend the next troubleshooting steps before users even report the problem.

If I could automate one task from my day, I would create an AI-powered "digital project assistant."

Instead of spending valuable time manually tracking where every hour goes, I'd have AI quietly work in the background-- recognizing the customer I'm supporting, tracking the time and effort invested, and automatically updating my Genesys Project timesheet with accurate allocations.

But the innovation wouldn't stop there.  This AI assistant could become a communication bridge with my principal by identifying allocation gaps in real time.  If the work being delivered doesn't match the planned hours, it could proactively flag the misalignment and start the conversation before it becomes a problem.

The result?  Less time spent on administrative tasks, more transparency around customer impact, and better alignment between workload, priorities, and resources.  In other words, I'd let AI handle the "where did my time go?" question so I can focus on the "how can I create more value?" question.

If I could automate one thing, it would definitely be attending meetings! I'd love to have an AI avatar that could join all my meetings, take notes, and let me know only when my input is needed.

I would like to automate the way KB articles that are popped to the agent.  The ones that are actually referred by the agent to solve the ticket are compiled and pushed to the ticket as an internal note for future use.  Use AI to identify incomplete or outdated KB articles and send them to the authoring team for review and updates.
