  • 1.  MediaHelper Auto-Login

    Posted 20 days ago

    Hi,

Is it possible to implement MediaHelper auto-start and auto-login (SSO) on a Windows station?
    The customer requirement is:
The user starts his computer. Log in to Windows (MFA/...),  MediaHelper starts (auto-start) and auto-logs in (SSO) to Genesys.
At the same time, auto-start VDI session (log in with SSO), where the user opens Genesys Client and logs in to Genesys (SSO).

Has someone implemented something like this?

    Hello Yvgeni,

Yes, this is possible, but it typically requires a few pieces working together. For the Media Helper side, you can configure the Genesys Cloud desktop application to run as a WebRTC Media Helper and set it to launch automatically when Windows starts. Many organizations handle this through startup settings, Group Policy, or software deployment tools so users don't have to manually launch it each day.

For authentication, SSO is really the key. If your identity provider and Genesys Cloud are configured for SSO with auto-redirect enabled, users can often authenticate seamlessly using their existing Windows or corporate credentials. In a VDI environment, the common approach is to run the Media Helper outside the VDI session while the Genesys Cloud client runs inside the VDI session. Once both are configured with SSO, the experience can be largely automated, allowing users to sign in to Windows and have the necessary components start and authenticate with minimal interaction.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers,

    Hi Cameron,

Could the media helper auto-start and auto-login (via SSO) on a Windows station also be implemented when using the web client version of the media helper?

    Thanks and regards,

    Marcelo

Yes - it is partially possible, but achieving the full seamless flow (Windows login → Media Helper auto-start + auto-login + VDI auto-launch + Genesys SSO login) depends heavily on your environment setup, identity provider (IdP), and endpoint/VDI configuration. It is not a single out-of-the-box feature, but can be implemented using a combination of methods.
