Hi Jeremy,
2 comments: Your decision sets the language to en- us in both cases. This leads to always using the english prompt. If you correct that, then the spanish prompt will be played when pressing 9. But your spanish prompt is using the Genesys TTS. If you want to use it an (spanish) TTS from Azure, you will have to configure that, too.
Best regards
Christoph

Melissa,
I'm not sure if I described it incorrectly but I think I am hearing it translated. I only put English in the prompts. This is my configuration:
Caller is prompted to select 9 if they want Spanish:

Spanish is set to use Genesys TTS - Isabel:

Example of one of the menus that is then read in Spanish if you have selected 9 during the language selection prompt:

I will upload an example as well. The first Spanish (read by the Microsoft AI) is typed out in Spanish, the remainder is seen above.

Genesys TTS does not translate TTS into another language. For example, if this is what I have when running the flow in Spanish, the caller will still hear "hello my name is Bob" with a heavy Spanish accent. Genesys TTS will not translate that to "hola, mi nombre es Bob." If you're thinking about runtime data playback like the 2nd piece, that's not using TTS at all. It's playing the appropriate system prompts for the given value and format. These system prompts are usually recorded with the same voice that was used to generate the voice for the TTS engine which is why people get confused.

Subject: Microsoft Azure Cognitive Services Text to Speech does not automatically translate English to Spanish like Genesys default TTS does
Hello,
We're looking into options for more natural TTS and while evaluating Microsoft's Azure AI speech it appears that the English text typed into Genesys architect is not translated from the English to Spanish like it is when using the default Genesys TTS. Is this just not supported or am I missing a setting?
If it is not supported does anyone have a recommendation on how to proceed? I could just translate before hand and create prompts in both languages but I wasn't sure if there was a better way/better TTS engine to use?
Thank you,
Jeremy
