Your line of thinking is likely correct in most cases. Our issue stems from when we set up WFM we misunderstood the difference between BU's and MU's. So we currently have each department set up as BU's. This creates issues when we need to recreate planning groups in multiple BU's and makes forecasting unreliable. We are looking to fix it by condensing to 2 BU's, a Sales and a Customer Operations BU which will break out multiple MU's for the smaller departments. This makes this a bit more of an edge case in that normal practices would not need this, but I do feel that we likely are not the only business that has made these mistakes so I still feel this would be an important feature. And if the schedules do NOT need moved when agents move BU's they simply can remove the agent/schedule from the old BU.

Hi Aaron,
Our thinking was that once an agent moves to a new BU their old schedule is invalid. They are doing a new 'type' of work with a new forecast and a new schedule needs to be created.
We do keep time off requests with the agent when they move, so if they were granted time off in the old BU they should get that time off in the new BU as well.
This is not the first time I've heard this ask. Agents can get scheduled months out sometimes and it's a pain to re-create those schedules when you are moving them to a new BU for organizational purposes (instead of 'they are actually doing a brand new thing' purposes). I've voted on your idea :)

I understand, Aaron - I have added the link for the idea so others can click on it and vote.

Hi Tracey,
I understand the impact this would have to forecasting, however our primary concern is with already published schedules. Particularly we need to honor the days agents were promised off. So while forecasting for schedule generation is important, once schedules are published for us the forecast becomes significantly less important. Future, unpublished, schedules are not much of a concern as, like you said, new forecasting would be done. But we are still left with 3 months of schedules for over 100 agents that we would need to manually recreate.
That being said, I do understand the technical difficulties in moving schedules in cases where not all MU's are moved to a different BU. I think a compromise would be simply allowing agents to view their schedules for the old BU that were already published until a new schedule is published in the new BU. I opened an idea for that here:

I feel that since this would only impact visibility of schedules and not location or organization this would be significantly easier to deliver and would still satisfy our concerns since we would not need to regenerate schedules.

Hi Aaron,
This as expected behaviour the Forecast and Schedule is at the BU level, it's very easy to move employees from one MU to another in a single BU, however moving employees to another BU means that those employees will need a new schedule based on the new BU's forecast and the MU's configured within.

We are looking to condense some BU's together. We set up a couple test BU's and MU's and were moving MU's between BU's no problem. However we noticed that schedules do not move over to the new MU. We also notice that agents lose schedule visibility when moving an entire MU to a new BU, likely because the schedule remains with the old BU. Is there a way to move schedules from one BU to another? Some of the platforms being moved have schedules 3 months out and that is a lot of work needing to be redone if we can't move the schedules.
