    We're improving how dates and times are displayed in Workforce Management to better match your regional preferences.

    What's changing?

    Previously, date and time formats were determined only by your selected Genesys Cloud language. For example, anyone using English would see US formatting (MM/DD/YYYY and 12-hour time), regardless of their browser or device settings.

    With this update, Workforce Management will also consider your browser or device's regional locale, provided it uses the same language as your selected Genesys Cloud language.

    How it works

    If your Genesys Cloud language preference and your browser or device use the same language, Workforce Management will use your regional locale for date and time formatting.

    If they use different languages, your Genesys Cloud language preference continues to take priority and the existing formatting behaviour remains unchanged.

    For example:

    • A user who selects English in Genesys Cloud and has their browser set to en-GB will now see UK-style dates (DD/MM/YYYY) and 24-hour time.
    • A user who selects English in Genesys Cloud but has their browser set to fr-FR will continue to see English with US date and time formatting, as the application language takes precedence when the languages don't match.

    Note: To use regional date and time formatting, make sure your preferred browser language is listed first in your browser's language settings. If another language is higher in the list, Workforce Management will use that language when determining the regional date and time format. The example below shows a browser where English (US) is still the preferred language, so English (United Kingdom) formatting will not be applied until it is moved to the top of the list.


    We hope this update makes Workforce Management feel more natural to use by displaying dates and times in the format you're most familiar with.

    Hi,

    This is a very welcome addition. In Brazil, we also use the same format as the UK, and even though I've gotten used to the US format, viewing dates and times in our native timezone feels much more familiar.

    We've been waiting for this enhancement since we deployed Genesys Cloud at our UK base in 2023.  A very welcome upgrade.
    Just the roadmap 'dark mode' to come and our UI experience will be gold standard :-)

    The feature in Tempo appears to apply only to the date format, not the time format. Do you know if that's actually the case, or should we also be able to display time in the 24-hour format in Tempo?

    Hey Tam,

    It applies to both the date and time formats. It pulls the settings from your device. You might be getting caught out by split settings on the device you are using. For example on iOS the region settings do determine time formats but they can be overriden by a toggle in Date and Time called "24-hour time". 

    E.g. if your device is set to UK under region and languages but 24-hour time is turned off under date and time then you wouldn't see the time format you are expecting.
