    Hi Community, 
    This week, we are excited to be rolling out the new "Ability to specify override dates in time off plans for days that are blocked or require manual review" to time off Management 🎉

    With this new feature, you will be able to set specific dates or date ranges for exclusion from the day-to-day operation of the Time Off Plan. Selected that days are either not available for request or should be excluded from automated approval and held for manual review.  

    Blocked days scenario:
    On the 3rd of November, the Business is closed and no Time Off requests are required:

    1. Select the Overrides Tab in the Time Off Plan
    2. Select  "+Add" 
    3. Select your required date and "Blocked from Time Off Request"
    4. Confirm by clicking Add

    Manual Review Scenario: All Time Off Requests for the Thanksgiving period will be manually processed:

    1. Follow steps 1 and 2 from the Blocked days scenario.
    2. Select the date range and Manaually Reviewed
    3. Confirm by clicking Add

     When you return to the Override Dates Tab, you'll be able to view the list of dates and their override action:

    Also, as of this release the Time Off Plans screen has been organized into three tabs for ease of use:

    • Plan Overview
      • Applies to Management Unit | Staffing Group
      • HR System
      • HR System Time-off Type
      • Associated Activity Codes
    • Rules
      • Schedule Management settings
      • Time-off Limits settings
      • Approval Rules settings
    • Override Dates (new functionality)

    Additional enhancements introduced with this feature:

    • New Time Off Request Statuses in the Time Off Requests module list and request details
      • Pending - Manual Approval 
        • If the Time Off Request matches a Time Off Plan which is configured to require manual approval
        • If the request does not match any plan, the status will be Pending
      • Pending - Review Date
        • If the Time Off Request matches a Time Off Plan and also contains a date that matches an Override Date configured to be Manually Reviewed.
      • Pending - Blocked Date
        • If the Time Off Request matches a Time Off Plan and also contains a date that matches an Override Date configured as 'Blocked from Time Off Request'  
        • Note - an admin using the Time Off Requests module, or an API user can enter this type of request

    • New information presented to the admin user when Adding a Time Off Request
      • 'This is a blocked day in the Time Off Plan' presented if adding a date that matches a Override Date configured as 'Blocked from Time Off Request'

    Hi Paul,

    Thank you for the update, we are integrating it into our ways of working instantly - we had previously been governing this by 'zeroing' public holidays or high volume periods, so the simplified option is great! 

    We couldn't help but notice that your screenshot has dates in DD/MM/YYYY format, rather than the MM/DD/YYYY format we have previously been having to use. Can you advise how we can set that up our end?

    This new feature won't change your date formatting. Paul's screenshots have dates that are exposing in progress development work for https://genesyscloud.ideas.aha.io/ideas/OP-I-113

    I am verifying if my post is accurate, I may have spoken too soon - this definitely represents future work in progress.

    While update the UI for Time Off Plans we took advantage of a new localization library that will be used by all admin pages in the platform over time.  This is the same capability we rolled out for WFM Agents last year (New Feature - Present Dates in WFM to Agents so they can be understood Internationally | Workforce Engagement Management).

    Long story short, your browser's language setting is used to refine the settings established by your Genesys Cloud > Preferences > Language selection.  If your browser is set to a valid sub locale of the Genesys Cloud language, the time, date, and number formats your browser specifies will be used.   To achieve the result you see in Paul's screenshots, his Genesys Cloud Preference Language setting is 'English' and his internet browsers language setting is 'English (United Kingdom)'.

    Thank you Eric, per your and Jay's notes this appears to still be in Dev as I was not able to replicate it by altering my browser language. 

    Looking forward to the rollout, we currently have to use a formula in Excel to 'correct' the date to DD/MM/YYYY

    (=Concatenate(MID(D2,4,3),LEFT(D2, 3), RIGHT(D2, 4)) for any interested)

    Update to provide here:  We will be releasing a change to the behavior of the Time Off Plans module in order to ensure that all WFM admin modules (forecasters, schedulers, etc) behave consistently until we release an enhancement for all of these capabilities at the same time.

    The upcoming change will cause the Time Off Plans module to use the time/date/number formats established in the Genesys Cloud > Preferences > Language selection you make.

    In the future, all WFM administrative modules will be enhanced so that the time/date/number formats displayed will start with your Genesys Cloud > Preferences > Language selection and then be modified by your browser's settings for a more personalized view.

    Hi Eric,

    One of the departments I support within our organization, with no changes yet made, randomly now see a new notification status "Pending - Manual Approval". The time off plan is not set to auto approve and it is set to the same plan. Can you help me understand why this new status is now displaying?

    Pending, which existed before the release, would now be 'Pending - Manual Approval' to be clearer and disambiguate from other added Pending sub-statuses. When you see just Pending, then it is because there is no time-off plan or they were processed earlier before this feature was enabled.

    Hi @Jay Langsford & @Eric Hagaman, To Al's point above if a time off request is not available but not an override date should it not still say "Pending - Waitlisted" and then for dates that are impacted by the new override feature say "Pending - Manual Approve" to help distingush between the different types of pending you can have? The system would always auto approve pending-waitlisted time-off requests if that day became availble.

    Apologies, I just answered my own question and I believe as long as you have it still on "Condtional Approval" the "Pending - Waitlisted" option will show. I tried to delete the message but appears in the new format you cant go to your inbox and delete any contributions as you could before.
