  • 1.  Not getting option to select 'prompt variable' on Data Action node in order to play prompt dynamically

    Posted 10-31-2025 10:30

    Hi All,

    Greetings!

We have a Use case where we want to play processing prompt dynamically based on certain condition. But Architect data action node is only allowed to play static (system & User prompt). Any suggestions would be helpful to us.

Workaround: We are thinking otherwise to create multiple 'data action' nodes for same api with different processing prompt.

    Hi Swati Shrivastava

    Yeah, that's a tool design.
One alternative is to set "No value" and play a short message before the action runs.

For a truly dynamic option, it would be best to suggest this as a product improvement in the Genesys Ideas.

    Hi  Luiz,

Thank you for reply. We tried with 3 sec prompt but also notice that any length prompt can be played on Data Action node.

The statement given on resource center is little contradictory. Does that means if we trigger processing prompt then it should play the complete prompt otherwise it turned up into bad customer experience if it stops in between

     https://help.mypurecloud.com/articles/call-data-action/#:~:text=Select%20an%20audio%20prompt%20that,to%20adhere%20to%20this%20recommendation.

    • The prompt must be an audio file. Text-to-speech (TTS) is not supported.
    • This prompt only plays once and does not repeat.
    • The prompt has a one-second initial delay.
    • The prompt plays an audio file of any length and ends when audio completes or after 3 seconds, whichever comes first.
    • The initial delay and three-second playing time are theoretical values. Loading and other factors that affect performance may affect performance.
    • If audio is less than 3 seconds, the system does not repeat audio to meet the 3 second minimum.
    • Best practice recommends an audio file of at least 60 seconds. If historically, your data calls do not take up that amount of time, you do not need to adhere to this recommendation.
