  • 1.  On Site Edge Applicance

    Installing some Edge Appliances and had two questions;

    1) Is there a link anyone has seen that shows steps or process.  For example, install Appliance 1st, Then set up trunks, etc.  I've seen separate instructions for the edge and separate for the Trunks but was wondering if there was one that might show a complete strategy?

    2) Once the Edge is up and running do alarms get sent to Genesys and if so how?

    Yes, setup your Edge appliance completely before doing any trunk work:  https://help.mypurecloud.com/articles/about-edge-pairing/

    After you setup the Edge, all administrations, updates, and errors are all cloud-based in the Genesys Cloud Admin.

    When you get the Edge operational and upgraded, then follow this for trunks:  https://help.mypurecloud.com/articles/create-a-byoc-premises-trunk/

    Hi Stephen, to add to what Robert posted...
    first hint I'd give you, to have everything ready (sites, edge groups, trunks etc..) before setting up the edge, that makes this process much smoother.

    When it comes to alerts - there are none that I'd be aware of in Cloud Admin.
    You basically can see the status of the device and some stats regarding the device (screenshot attached).

    You can also see some metrics for your devices (calls per trunk, ram or cpu utilization, calls per edge...).

    I've seen some monitoring solution based on AWS Lambda - you could try that one:
