I 100% agree. When I took the developer exam, I was surprised by the underwhelming number of API questions, and the solid understanding of Admin and Implementation is a good percentage on all exams I have taken so far. Set yourself up for success and truly try to understand the material, and not just try to get a cert to get a cert.

Hi Kyle,
I agree with the comments above. In my experience, the Genesys Cloud Professional Certification exam itself is not particularly difficult to pass. However, it is one of the most valuable certifications to invest time in because it provides the foundational knowledge that applies across the entire Genesys Cloud platform.
I would strongly recommend spending the time to truly master the Administration and Implementation concepts covered in this certification rather than focusing only on passing the exam. Many of the Specialist certifications include approximately 20% Administration and Implementation content, so a solid understanding of these areas will help you in multiple certification paths.
For those pursuing the Developer Certification, this is even more important. A significant portion of the exam focuses on Genesys Cloud platform knowledge, administration, and implementation concepts. Having a strong foundation in the Professional Certification topics can make a substantial difference and may help offset weaker performance in some of the more API-focused sections.
In short, don't view the Professional Certification as just an entry-level exam. Think of it as the foundation for almost every other Genesys Cloud certification. The time you invest in mastering the material will continue to pay off as you move on to Specialist and Developer certifications.

Good afternoon Jean:
I would go ahead and take the exam while it's fresh in your mind. I would not wait 2 months for the workshop; I don't believe that it provides that much as far as prep goes.
Tip-wise, if you are taking your exam remotely, go ahead and set up your test area before logging in, eat something, use the restroom, and avoid drinking anything within the 20-30 mins before the test. If you have the ability to connect your device via LAN that will help to avoid any connection issues that may come up and throw your rhythm off when the exam freezes.
My next tip: if you can't answer a question in 10-15 seconds, flag it and move on; a question down the road may answer it. This will help keep you from getting brain fog as you try to work through it and allows you to get the known fruits quicker so you're not stressing about time left over.
My final tip: This works for me and may not work for you, but I never review any question that was not flagged. More often than not, I found that if I revisit a question, I'm more likely to second-guess my answer and choose a wrong answer.
1) I did both the Self-study and ILT courses. I did the Self-Study with labs, then took the ILT. After the ILT, I did a speed run through the Self-Study courses again, just to reinforce the material. I found this works best for me when it comes to exam prep and touching up on new or refreshed material.
2) For the Certification workshop, I attended that session back when I did that; it was required to get the voucher for the practice test. I can't remember it being particularly helpful, but a few things were touched on by the instructor that closed some gaps I was overthinking.
3) I followed the same process as in 1 for every one of the cert exams I have taken so far; it seems to work for me and really helps me drill the concepts into my mind.
4) While I have taken every practice exam prior to the actual exam, I would say it's about 50/50 in terms of it being useful. I tend to take them right before I take the exam to kind of get my brain a jump-start into exam mode.
