  • 1.  Permissions specific to queue?

    Posted 08-28-2024 13:23

We currently have only one division in Genesys - but we have multiple departments and queues within those departments. Is there a setting or permissions I can set that would allow a user to only view interactions for a specific queue? for example- if I give someone the ability to audit and create evaluations for a particular queue in their department, but I dont want them to view interactions for folks in other departments. I see the 'division aware' setting but if i only have one division then that doesnt restrict anything correct?

This may have a simple answer that I'm just overlooking. But if anyone has any suggestions i'd appreciate it. I'm attempting to make our permissions more restrictive- than they currently are.

You might have luck by creating unique roles and using permission restrictions to limit what the role has access to.  I believe that would let you limit the users they can audit.  I am not certain about queues.

    Hi Dawn,

TBH, you are better off with just utilizing divisions to streamline user access across departments.

But if its something you need to do now, you can put a condition on permissions based on queue:

As Katrina mentioned, create a unique role first and add your preferred permissions. Then Edit the conditions for those permissions.

yeah i guess my concern with that is, for this role they'd need to be able view interactions so that they could then evaluate it. But the role for that is conversation>communication>view and you cant add conditions for that.

    Hi Dawn,

Technically, it's possible but may not be pretty:

    1. Create a separate division
    2. Assign custom role for viewing and evaluating interactions to your auditor/QA
    3. Restrict role to the new division only. Remove any access to HOME division.
    4. Create new group and add all agents
    5. Enable roles on group
    6. Assign their same roles/permissions on the group, but include the new division plus home
    7. Assign target queue to the new division

This lets you isolate the queue to a different division and still have all the users from before to have access to the queue and any conversation related to it.

On the flip side, your QA/auditor has access only to this queue and its conversations.
