Does anyone have a deployment where they are successfully runing newer Poly firmware than what the Genesys servers house?

    Poly E300, Genesys houses 8.2.2.

Latest Poly firmware is 8.4.1 (Genesys is at least 4 revisions behind).

There is a low memory issue that we are experiencing that is fixed in 8.3.0.

If I remove the Provisioning Server from the Poly phone I can manually update firmware and it will retain the level.

However, this causes issues with config file changes in Genesys not being updated to the phones.

Once I add the Genesys URL back to the Provisioning Server the phone reboots and downgrades to the old FW of 8.2.2.

I made a Poly config (downloaded from a separate server) that contains the parameter Device.prov.upgradeServer="URL for Firmware server"

This works and the phone reaches out to my FW server and updates.

However, once the phone boots Genesys overwrites the parameter with a blank entry, Device.prov.upgradeServer="", then downgrades to the old FW that Genesys houses.

    Any help is much appreciated

    Hello Ken,

This is because our system will try to make sure that the provisioned phones are using the latest firmware that we have tested. I believe that we typically run with the latest firmware listed on this site, but I'm not seeing the Poly Edge phones listed in the firmware matrix.

I'm not sure if I will be able to access when or how testing new firmwares for individual phone models is going internally, but I will let you know if I am able to find any information. I believe you may be able to provision the phone as a generic SIP device and then use the firmware of your choosing on the device.

    Thanks for your reply.

It seems Genesys is at least 4 revisions behind on Poly E300 firmware releases.

Wouldn't changing to a Generic SIP Base lose features such as multi-key programming and Failover?
